Thank you for this article. I have been searching around for how to do this on AWS particularly with Cloudfront. This write up is great because its simple and to the point, exactly what I needed.

Ultimately I don't think the "canary" deployment strategy is something our team will want to adopt since we've been pushing to deploy to production every day and move away from releasing batched versions every week or so.

Given that there is some manual rollout management and monitoring to be done when you do canary, I imagine this approach is most suitable when you push out versioned releases and it happens 1x a week or 1x every two weeks?

In other words it seems like Canary is only beneficial if you have a person / people who are babysitting the rollout and it doesn't seem practical to be doing that constantly.
