Nice write up! I tried it myself and it was very easy to get working. I agree with Krishna’s comment on this post. If there were a way to be billed per workflow job executed I think that would entice a lot of new users. I agree that Zeebe is easier to use than step functions for a number of reasons however the granularity of billing that AWS offers I think really reels people in. In the end it may not even save people money but it creates the perception that they’re getting what they’re paying for. I’m sure implementing this would be a big technical challenge and would have potential security implications since it would likely involve having customers share brokers. Is this feasible and something the team is considering?

Also why do you recommend Fargate over the regular EC2 variety of AWS ECS? It seems that fargate would be more expensive as it is designed for scheduled workloads that spin up temporarily then shut down VS long running. I have never used it so perhaps I misunderstand the docs.
